BOLU CEMENT PRODUCTS

In Bolu Cement plants, all types of cement are produced in conformity with TS EN 197-1 standard:

European Standard Turkish Standard Field of Usage
CEM I General Usage
CEM II PKÇ For general usage, with low additive
CEM III Slag Cement: Developed against chemical attacks, with low hydration temperature, durable, can be used on all surfaces that contact with acids, salts and water
CEM IV PZÇ With high quantity of puzolan added and have relatively slower resistance development as compared with other types
CEM V KZÇ With blast furnace slag and puzolan additive
SPECIAL CEMENT TYPES Various cement types designed according to the needs of clients:
(Such as cement used in the underwater tunnel of Marmaray and petroleum cement etc.)

CEM III SLAG CEMENT
The blast furnace slag that is produced in the metallurgical facilities as waste material can be used as an additive in cement production due to its hydraulic binding feature. Bolu Cement produces the slag cement with the slag purchased from Ereðli Iron and Steel Factory and markets this product in continuously increasing quantities to the domestic and international markets.
Slag cement, due to its high resistance against chemical attacks and its low hydration temperature, known as more durable than CEM I Portland cement can be used in many projects like dams, ports, refineries, irrigation canals, bridges etc. and gradually more preferred for economic reasons. Under contemporary conditions, this type of cement that requires lesser clinker usage is the one with least damage to the environment.
CEM III/B type of cement with high slag additive has been successfully produced by Bolu Cement, a Pioneer in Turkey in Research and Development Works. This product is being marketed to many special projects run in different parts of the world.
The investment of Bolu Cement in progress in the industrial region of Ereðli is due to be completed by the end of 2010 and expected to increase the slag cement grinding capacity by 1 million tons.

GRANULATED SLAG

Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GBFS) is one of the waste material groups obtained from various metallurgical facilities. In raw iron production the blast furnace slag, as it is lighter, stays on raw iron and is composed at 1,400-1,600 degrees after the iron ore gangue, coke and limestone are burnt.
Slag, that is hard to grind, is used as an additive for ready mixed concrete and cement after being processed in every central facility.

Slag, ground at the facilities of Adana Cement and Bolu Cement at the required calibre is marketed in Turkey by the producing companies and by OYTAÞ in the international markets.
